Firsts - Yoga !!

Today will go down in my memory lane for another few firsts in my life and I certainly see this as a turning point . I taught yoga for the first time in my life and accept a tuition fee / payment, this is really huge for me. I am at loss of words to describe the feeling , but is was a sense of peace, sense of independence , sense of service . Yeah that is it , service , I was not focused about the material reward I get for teaching . I was focused on doing the best i could to bring a difference in my life and I believe that brought about the peace in me.
I did two classes today , one at Laguna Beach for Sonali and her friends , who are in town for their friends wedding ( Sruthi's ) wedding .Nice group of friends. We did yoga for around 75 minutes . The next one was for John at his residence in Laguna Niguel, very nice guy , he owns a tortilla and chips company . We did yoga for around 90 minutes. I enjoyed the class and John showed deep interest in learning and that was very positive.

So it is another milestone and I am sure this experience will start off some amazing things in my life, I am looking forward to the same and we shall see those exciting avenues life is going to take me.

Peace !!

Om Shanti

Shanti means Peace in Sanskrit. What is peace , it is a question that has been asked millions times and answered as well.

Wiki describes peace as Peace can be a state of harmony or the absence of hostility. "Peace" can also be a non-violent way of life.

One of the things I observed when I was looking for definition / meaning for the word peace was the fact that majority of them dealt with negative , what I meant by negative is not at war , not in a state of agitation , not in a state of violence. The point I am trying to make it when we focus on the not of war , still our mind has to picture war , when it thinks about peace .We are in a way trying to define peace by defining war .So the focus even though not intentional is on war .This is something fundamental we could all take a leaf from , define peace as absolute not relative to war, agitation , restlessness etc.

I asked couple of my friends who were around me about peace and this is what they had to say:

My friend Karunamukhi describes peace as :: being happy in your own silence, in your own own skin, in your body/spirit and mind.

One of my other friend Mo describes Peace as :: satisfaction of body / mind / soul.

Very true indeed, peace is what peace means to each of us . Let us all focus on the positive and not on the negative ( war, agitation ) when we think about peace. I have though about a day when all of us accept us as we are , wouldn't that be a wonderful world to live in .Let the change start with each of us. What is essential for peace is abundance and the more we as humans believe in abundance , universe is going to reward humanity with peace. If you look at it another way , we can start the cycle of peace by believing there is abundance in this world and what we have physical/ material , mental , emotional is just what we have now and we only need to have the right intentions to get to what we want and not struggle for it, as long as our intentions are clear. So what is important is intentions and believe in total abundance and this world will be a peaceful place. Now if you are wondering how you can help with it , just be the example and start believing and be the change you want the world to be .

Still if you think how could I make the difference to such a big world , read the 100th monkey story on consciousness. You do matter and we can all make a difference, at least we will be peaceful and that is the least we could all do to ourselves.

World Peace .. one mind at a time.

In the next few weeks I will share with the world and myself the people, energy , calmess, peace and above all awarness that I have attracted through yoga.

I have been waiting for few years to start my blog and today I decided , just like I did head stand for the first time there is no better way to do anything that getting it done now .
